Yes, on a hinge, closing with a soft click. Inside there is room for a photograph trimmed to the size of a fingernail or a folded note. Cut the photo first, then close it gently.
The steel is fine with water, but keep it dry anyway — chlorine and salt settle in the hinge over time. Take it off first and it stays perfect.
